When you get beat by a wide receiver, (which will happen alot) what can you do? Well I was told by the great NFL Veteran cornerback Kevin Mathis, that the greatest ability for a cornerback to have is to be able to RECOVER fast. Whether that means mentally or in coverage, they both work in the game of football.
You must know how to make up for when the receiver may shake you up a little bit, and go catch him to either get a last second break up or make a touchdown saving tackle! Extremely important, and the thing this is so simple, yet I see so many defenders/cornerbacks doing the wrong thing over and over again.
